GR Current

I wouldn't Really call GR CurrenT "work"

GR Current was probably one of the most ridiculous jobs I could have landed right out of university.

GR Current was a low-barrier-of-entry collaborative workspace for entrepreneurs and technologists in West Michigan all funding through Grand Rapids Tax Incremented Financing zone called the "SmartZone." It costed about $75 for a hot desk but then allowed free access to mentorship, program development, meeting space and tons of solid networking events.

For two years or more we were running around town, making the space as cool and inviting as it could possibly be all resulting in it being a necessity in the community.

We also managed about $1.5MM of Grand Rapids' tax increment financing fund focused on high-growth, high-tech companies.

Every quarter, about 20 events needed to be executed on, ranging from networking to educational, given industry types. Some events got blown out of proportion with 500+ attendee lists, shutting down Downtown Grand Rapids bridges and thoroughfares.

We always made pushes to be as inclusive as possible while exposing constituents to interesting spaces and abstract thought.

I specifically worked on designing & implementing marketing collateral, event planning, and program development.

Take a peek (outdated)...
